The School to Work Program helps eligible students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find employment before exiting school.
Using a team approach, students work with Vadis, school staff, family/guardians, the Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitiation (DVR), local county Developmental Disbilities offices, and other supports.
Assessments in the community help individuals and their team identify the best job match for their skills and interests. Once goals are identified, Vadis connects the individuals with employment opportunities and supports them through training, job stabilization and future advancement.
Vadis supports School to Work students in King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, Mason, and Thurston counties.
Students enrolled with Seattle Public Schools have a unique opportunity to participate in Project SEARCH a nationally recognized transition model, located at Seattle Children's Hospital with the support of Vadis.
