Debbie had volunteered at Francis house and had worked at the Orting School District and was ready to get back to work again. Vadis began the hunt for a great job match and found a position that was well-matched to the tasks Debbie prefers doing. She was hired as a lobby atendant at Jack in the Box in August of 2019.
It is with a flurry of emotions that we at Vadis say goodbye to Dana Mossman, as she retires this week after a 14-year career at Vadis. Grateful for all that she brough to our organization, Happy that she is off on a new adventure, and Sad that we couldn't talk her into staying longer. She has brought so much to the individuals we support, the staff she mentored and lead, and to the numerous employers that she connected to supported employment services.

Bryden wanted a job working around horses. His Vadis team set out to make that dream come true and now he is a farm hand for Opus Arabians in Graham! Bryden washes grain and water buckets, cleans towels and horse polos, cleans the hay room, and discards excess hay in front of the stalls. By the smile on his face, it's pretty clear he is in his element.

Now is the time to tell legislators that funding for Disability Services is critical! The COVID-19 pandemic as has altered the norm of daily life for all of us. The economic fallout from this crisis has seen many people out of work. State coffers are completely reliant on people having and spending money to generate the revenue our state needs to fund basic services that people rely on.
Austin was enrolled in Vadis' 2019 School to Work program and exited with a job at a home improvement store, but his heart was set on working for Tractor Supply Co. He had previously interviewed with Tractor Supply Co, but it wasn't the right timing. While shopping with his family one day, he mentioned to the staff that he really wanted to work there.
