When Dave Lehmann decided to hire an individual with disabilities in 2013, he wanted to make sure he created a job that was fun and would allow his new employee to grow and learn additional skills. Since she started working at Grand Prix Raceway, Kymber has enjoyed the fun part of the job as well as learning to do a variety of different tasks.

kymber3Kymber is responsible for organizing supplies as well as sanitizing and putting away race helmets and coveralls after racing events.

One of the best job benefits is getting the opportunity to drive the race cars from time to time! In these photos, Kymber is racing against Angela, her intrepid Vadis Employment Consultant.

As always, safety is of primary concern when racing and both ladies are briefed on safety procedures prior to the race.

We don’t have any pictures of the actual race, but we have one post race shot to share, and this should tell you who won the match race, and who needs to work on their racing skills!

We also wanted to share a great video of Dave talking about the hiring process with Vadis and how much he enjoys having Kymber as part of his team!

Enjoy!
